Bullion calculator

How to read bullion prices
- Per troy ounce. The world price of gold, silver and platinum is quoted per troy ounce of pure metal: 31.10 grams.
- Fine content. A coin or bar is worth its weight multiplied by its purity. A 1 oz Maple Leaf contains one troy ounce of 99.99% gold.
- Canadian dollars. Metals are traded in U.S. dollars, so the Canadian price also moves with the exchange rate.
Buying price and selling price
When you buy a coin or bar, you pay the metal value plus a premium. When you sell, a buyer pays close to the metal value. The gap is smallest on large, widely recognised bars and largest on small or collectible pieces.
